Hi, I'm Lisa! I am one of the organizers of the Sapphic Writers Circle, along with a small team of volunteer "admins". For over a year, we have each shown up for this group in our own different and beautiful way, because we believe in the power of coming together as a community of queer writers in Austin, TX.
Last year I decided I wanted to write a novel. Very quickly, I realized that writing is hard. And lonely. And plagued by constant self-doubt. So then I decided I needed to join a writing group. Turns out, there are many writing groups around Austin, but as a queer woman, it was important for me to find a place where I felt a sense of safety and belonging. The Sapphic Writers Circle is exactly that. My new home for sapphic community.
